The dogs absolutely hate Rachael Ray's dog food, Nutrish. I know "they" say dogs won't intentionally starve themselves...but mine will if you don't feed them good food. I found out from my vet, that you should change your dog's food once a year or so. This way you can make sure they get all the nutrients they need. Something might be missing in their current food and if you feed them that their entire life, they will be deficient. I also found out that you should check the labels and see if there have been food trials. If so, then go with those. Rachael Ray's food didn't go through food trials yet. Go figure. My boys have a very refined palette.

That's funny~ What are your thoughts on the dogs being a true carnivor (sp?) I was watching Oprah on day and she has her dogs eating real meat. It took months to transition them into feeding them that way but her vet said this is how a dog is truly supposed to eat. What do you think?
up until recently I fed Coby and Tucker chicken breasts and sweet potatoes. I got a little bit lazy and then was reading about how they might not be getting all the vitamins and nutrients from just that. I know the boys love meat, but then earlier today, Tucker ate a HUGE bowl of mixed veggies (the frozen kind with the peas, carrots, and green beans) heated up with a drizzle of olive oil. It had to be at least 3 cups. Dogs are omnivores now. They are just too domesticated. Is Oprah doing the raw meat? I would gross out.
