Happy Thanksgiving

To all my friends and family... Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I have a lot to be thankful for... an absolutely loving and adoring husband; a beautiful home; two mischievous and loyal pups; supportive family and friends. We live in a free country because of the brave sacrifices of our service members. Please say a prayer of thanks for those deployed right now who give up countless holidays and time spent with their loved ones for our freedom.

PS...Buy a newspaper and support your local businesses!

Okay, I'm off my social issues soapbox now!

Where are the keys?

On our first morning in Leavenworth, we are getting ready to go across the street to the main hotel for breakfast. We cannot find the key anywhere. We looked everywhere. Then as a joke we said "what if we left the key in the door?" Lo and behold...

Our getaway to Leavenworth

I know a lot of you have been asking about our trip to Leavenworth a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time! We rented this great Hutte (hytte: if you are Norwegian; cabin: if you are anything else) from the Enzian Inn. It was the most relaxing 4 days we have had together in a long time. It was 1800 sq. feet perched above this great golf course and overlooks the Wenatchee River. We are all alone in this great cabin with a plasma tv upstairs and one downstairs. It was couples paradise.

I completely recommend this location to EVERYONE! www.enzianin.com

Hot Water!

I went to the Commissary this morning. That was my first mistake. Everyone and their dog was there...it was 8:45am, but I realized after the fact that it is the last Saturday before Thanksgiving. Anyway, I had too much coffee this morning, so I ran into the bathroom. Once I'm finished I go to wash my hands and I look up to see the sign posted above every sink. I read it just as I hear a flush. Okay...the sign doesn't lie. It is WICKED HOT! I scald my hands and the lady next to me chuckles. I almost tell the lady off, but I refrain. I snap a pic of her with my iPhone and bolt. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out otherwise I would post it.

The first aisle I go down is the first aid section for some bag balm or something similar to put in my small burn. What a dork.

One more thing about the commissary...it's probably one of the busiest days of the year for shopping and they have 3 lanes open and it's kids day to be baggers. Let me tell you, they aren't the fastest workers. I decide I might be lucky enough to get my cart to my car before Thanksgiving if a kid took them, so I rolled it out myself.

I'm now in the sanctity of my own home where I hope to remain for the rest of the day.

I'm still here!

I know I haven't posted in forever. I am posting a pic of me...well, my feet. I'm a sock and sandals girl today. There is a commercial around here...I want to say it's for Washington Mutual, and it is about life in the Northwest. At the end it says "Socks and Sandals Man...we salute you."

Jogger runs mile with rabid fox locked on her arm

Back to my theme about wild animals and how people never believe me that wild animals do some crazy things!
*************************************
Nov 5 03:27 PM US/Eastern

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - With a fox locked onto her arm, an Arizona jogger ran a mile to her car, where she was able to dislodge the animal, throw it into the trunk and drive to a Prescott hospital. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said the fox, which later attacked an animal control officer, tested positive for rabies.
The unidentified Chino Valley resident told deputies she was on a trail Monday at the base of Granite Mountain when the fox attacked, biting her foot. The woman said she grabbed it by the neck when it went for her leg and it latched onto her arm.

Thinking the fox was rabid, she wanted to make sure it didn't get away so she ran to her car, where she was able to pry open its jaws, wrap it in a sweat shirt and toss it into the trunk.
The woman is receiving rabies vaccinations, as is the animal control officer.

I always wanted to be a nurse....

Mom...what year do you think this was? Was Hollie born?

Halloween 1977? Mom?? Do you know?

Sorry, folks...I meant to post this picture yesterday! I'm Wonder Woman and my sister is a clown, duh. Yes, I'm wearing lipstick and yes, that is my work of art on the wall behind us. Now you have to keep in mind that a majority of trick-or-treating in the Pacific Northwest requires battling the rain, wind, cold, etc. My crown should act as a reflector while getting candy!

I know where you live....

I spotted the napping place of one of the raccoons that constantly harass the dogs and me...a tree in our neighbor's yard. I am going to drive them out of town. How you ask? I have no clue.

CamPAIN

I am PAINED by the camPAINS...Campaigns...

Is anyone else sick and tired of the political ads on tv? OMG...right now I don't really care who wins...just get off my TV! Washington will definitely go Obama, so we don't get to see the Presidential Candidate's commercials. The big thing around here right now is the race between Dave Reichert and Darcy Burner. Okay, they aren't even in my district so I don't really care. Dave Reichert votes with Bush. Okay, he's a republican. Chances are he's going to vote with "W." Reichert was integral in catching the Green River Killer, so I would prolly vote for him. Darcy Burner said she has a degree in economics from Harvard. She really has a degree in computer science from Harvard (see...www.harvardhoax.com). Oh and she has zero public service experience...anyway....Please just stop the insanity.

I can't take it anymore. I'd rather watch Billy Mays on TV! In fact...I'm voting Billy Mays for President! Instead of tax relief checks, we'll get a thing of Oxy-Clean, a sample of Orange Glow, and The Awesome Auger! Richard Simmons will be his VP running mate. Farewell to fat! Gastric Bypasses for EVERYONE!

Sure, there is the Dino Rossi vs. Chris Gregoire for governor race. It's pretty heated, very close and I'm tired of the commercialls. I wonder how many are still undecided? Will these commercials change any one's mind? The thing is...there haven't been any new ones for a while. Maybe have a commercial starring Stewie from The Family Guy...now I would watch that. Maybe Stewie should run for prez...

Is anyone else sick and tired of phone calls from "campains" and every other group with an agenda? If I get one more call from the Obama campaign (not even a real person that I can yell at...it's a recording) or Planned Parenthood wanting to "help" me pick my candidates, I will start going medieval on people. I've already turned in my ballot. Leave me alone.

Don't get me wrong...I love our political process. I'm so thankful that we each have a say in how the government is run. Our candidate may not win, but we can say that we voted. If you don't vote, then you can't complain. I'm just ready for it to be over. I'm going to go listen to Disco Sweat and get some KaBoom to clean the bathrooms.
